North East, base salary for a permanent role. Contract day rate £320 to £415.

The package: Car allowance of £4k to £6k is common at Tier 1 and Tier 2 contractors; bonus 5 to 10%.

What moves the number

The QS shortage has not gone away. Contractor QSs with a clean record on final accounts are the most asked-for profile I see, and the gap between a QS who can only measure and one who can negotiate is now worth £8k to £10k.
