> I have resigned and my employer has come back with more money. Should I take it? > > A question I am asked on most calls

Only if the thing that made you start looking has moved too. Money is the one thing an employer can fix by Friday, and it is rarely why people look. If you went looking because of the work, the person you report to, or a promotion that kept being next year, a pay rise leaves all of that where it was, and six months later it is usually still there.

So ask yourself what made you take the first call. If the counter-offer fixes that, it is worth considering properly. If it only fixes the salary, you have your answer. Full argument: Counter-offers.
