What happened

Costain reported its half-year 2026 results on 13 August, showing revenue up 3.4% to £543.1m and adjusted operating profit up 3.0% to £17.3m, holding an adjusted operating margin of 3.2%. Net cash stood at £164.4m and the interim dividend was doubled to 2.0p per share against the same point last year.
